Good morning, Mets fans!

We’re starting to really get into the grind of the lockout. Saturday was yet another quiet day, with many more likely to come. This is an unusual offseason for all of baseball, but especially for Mets fans. They made more big moves in a three-day span than they’re used to getting in an entire offseason, but the adrenaline rush came to a screeching halt as the gates came crashing down and the lockout commenced.

Stick with us, though. Remember that the Mets have two new starting outfielders and a new third third baseman. Oh yeah, and some guy named Max Scherzer.

In other news, Gil Hodges has a chance at being named to the Hall of Fame Class of 2022 today. Our own James Schapiro talked to teammates of Hodges in his article about why Hodges should be in the Hall of Fame.

In order to make it, Hodges needs to be named on 12 out of 16 ballots. The Early Baseball Era will also decide on a group of 10 candidates. Both will be announced today at 6 p.m. ET on MLB Network. The subsequent results will be announced on Jan. 25.
