Good morning, Mets fans!

Late Friday night, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reported that the Giants and Matt Chapman were in agreement on a three-year, $54 million contract. According to Heyman, the deal has opt-outs after the first two seasons and Chapman will make $20 million in 2024, $18 million in 2025, and $16 million in 2026 if he opts in each time. Chapman won a Gold Glove and recorded a .755 OPS with the Blue Jays in 2023, and he now joins Jung Hoo Lee and Jorge Soler as the prizes of the Giants’ free agent class.
