The struggling David Peterson has been better with an opener in front of him, but he will start today in the Mets’ series finale against the Nationals, looking to come away with a series split.
Peterson has a ghastly 8.10 ERA in five starts this season. In five long relief appearances, he has a 2.25 ERA.
The Mets have lost two in a row. It’ll be Peterson (2-4, 5.40 ERA) against Cade Cavalli (2-2, 4.05 ERA) at 4;30 p.m. ET.
