The New York Mets will try to avoid getting swept by the Chicago Cubs tonight in their series finale in the Windy City and will send Seth Lugo to the mound to face Jen-Ho Tseng in his MLB debut. The game starts at 8:05 p.m and airs on SNY.

Last night, the Mets struggled in every way imaginable on their way to a 17-5 loss. After a lead-off home run by Jose Reyes to start the game, Matt Harvey went to the mound and immediately gave two runs back to the put the Cubs in front 2-1. The Mets scored in the second inning, though, on a Matt Harvey RBI sacrifice bunt that Amed Rosario scored on.

The fourth inning is where the Cubs took advantage in which Anthony Rizzo walked with the bases loaded, followed by a Wilson Contreras two-run single (third RBI of the night). Matt Harvey’s final line read as 3 1/3 IP, five earned runs, seven hits allowed, and four walks.

The bullpen did not fare any better as Chasen Bradford, Kevin McGowan, Jacob Rhame, and Jamie Callahan combined to allow 12 runs in three innings of work.

The Mets tried to make a late comeback as they scored three runs in the eight inning, highlighted by a Dominic Smith two-run homer.
