Good morning, Mets fans!

Michael Conforto was supposed to be a hot commodity in the free agent market, however, he is still not signed. Yesterday, Scott Boras (Conforto’s agent) revealed that Michael Conforto injured his throwing shoulder in a workout during the lockout. Boras wanted Conforto to heal the shoulder before talking to teams, hence the delay in his contract negotiations.

As Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic pointed out, Boras said Conforto’s discussions with teams restarted about a week ago.

Conforto may not be a fit for the Mets if he wants to play everyday due to Starling Marte, Brandon Nimmo, and Mark Canha currently projected to be the starting outfield. Patrick Glynn has more on this story.
