Good Morning Mets Fans. Today is opening day eve with the 2017 Metropolitans season just hours away from beginning.
There is real baseball today, over on ESPN you can find a triple header of games that include the New York Yankees taking on the Tampa Bay Rays at 1 PM ET. The San Francisco Giants will also be opposed by the Arizona Diamondbacks at 4 PM ET and lastly, the Chicago Cubs begin their defense of the World Series crown against the St. Louis Cardinals at 8:30 PM ET.

Mets manager, Terry Collins spoke with Kevin Kernan of the NY Post on the upcoming season ahead and is more fired up than ever. In what could possibly be the end of Collins’ managing career, the soon to be 68-year-old has spoken of possible retirement at the end of this season. Collins has his team ready for another possible postseason run as the 2017 season readies to begin. If he does decide to retire at the of this season, it would surely be nice to send him out on top.
Mets outfielder, Jay Bruce spoke with the media and discussed his commitment to the organization and just how wrong he has been pegged in his short tenure with the team. He let it be known that the city is not too big for him and how he goes about brushing all the criticism off. It is a big year for Bruce in many ways, in the walk year of his deal, he will look to regain the status of the 30 homer, 100 RBI player he has been. On this day in 1966, the Mets were awarded the exclusive negotiation rights for pitcher, Tom Seaver. They would eventually go on to sign the former No.1 pick and the rest is history.
