The wait is finally over! The Mets hired their new manager on Friday, with Carlos Beltrán officially inking a deal to become the team’s next manager.

MMO’s own, Jack Ramsey, reported that Carlos Beltrán will be the Mets’ manager. He also reported that Terry Collins will be the bench coach.

The Mets plan to re-introduce Carlos Beltrán, now as Mets manager, on Monday at 11 a.m. according to Tim Healy of Newsday. Additionally, word got out that he will be receiving a three-year deal with a fourth-year option, reported by MetsMerized’s own Michael Mayer.

The Mets have officially declined the 2020 option with Juan Lagares for $9.5M. Additionally, Joe Panik and Donnie Hart will be free agents as they have declined their options to Triple-A Syracuse, Tim Healy was the first to report the news.

Major League Baseball uniforms will have a new look starting in 2020. Nike just finalized their deal with the MLB on Friday to design the new MLB uniforms which will feature the famous Nike “swoosh” on the front of the uniform on the player’s right shoulder. Deadspin’s staff, including about 20 writers and editors, quit on Friday morning. Their new owner refused to “stick to sports”, which was the original premise of the site back when it started in 2005. The news broke on Axios.com.

Senior writer for Baseball America’s, Ben Badler, shared the updated Mets Top 10 MLB Prospect list.

3B Mike Moustakas and C Yasmani Grandal have declined their 2020 options with the Milwaukee Brewers and will be free agents in the 2020 offseason.

The Kansas City Royals declined their mutual option with OF Alex Gordon.

The Cincinnati Reds exercised their club option with 2B/SS Freddy Galvis.

The Los Angeles Angels claimed RHP Mike Mayers off waivers from the St. Louis Cardinals.
