Good morning Mets fans! On Wednesday the Mets won their sixth in a row as they completed a four-game sweep of the Miami Marlins!
The amazins’ have now won 13-of-14 and find themselves one game out of a wild card spot with a record of 59-56. The Mets are a league best 19-6 since the All-Star break. This is miraculous turnaround can hands down be attributed to the dominance of this pitching staff that has finally hit their stride with an MLB leading 2.80 ERA since the break.
The Mets now have a rare day off Thursday before the Washington Nationals come to Citi Field for a pivotal three-game set over the weekend. This is without a doubt a critical series with 48 games left to play and playoff implications on the line. The Nationals currently lead the wild card by a game and winner of this series will either remain or emerge in this spot come Sunday evening.
Marcus Stroman makes his Citi Field debut Friday night against Nats starter Stephen Strasburg. First pitch is at 7:10 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on SNY.
