The Mets have signed reliever Dellin Betances,  according to Andy Martino of SNY. Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports that it’s a one-year deal. In addition, Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that the deal also has a player option for 2021, and a vesting player option for 2022.

Infielder Sam Haggerty has been designated for assignment by the Mets in order to make space on the 40-man roster for Dellin Betances.

Mets General Manager Brodie Van Wagenen referred to the Betances signing as an “exciting gift” for Mets fans.
