Good morning, Mets fans!

Game 6 of the ALCS began with a three-run homer off the bat of Yuli Gurriel to give the Astros a quick 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first. The Yankees responded with a double and an RBI single from Gary Sanchez to cut the Stros’ lead to 3-1.

After two innings without a score change, Gio Urshela smacked one deep to right-center field to cut their lead even further to a skinny one-run lead–3-2 going into the bottom half of the fourth. Houston tacked on one in the 6th with a fielders choice from Alex Bregman to make it 4-2. Going into the 9th inning the score was still 4-2, but DJ LeMahieu hit a two-run home run about a foot from George Springer glove to tie it up and send Game 6 to the bottom of the ninth. With some amazing defensive plays from Josh Reddick and Michael Brantley throughout the night, and a walk-off home run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth for Jose Altuve, the Astros are going back to the World Series.

The Houston Astros will play the Washington Nationals in the 2019 World Series. Game 1 is scheduled for Tuesday at 8:08 p.m..
