On This Date in Mets History

2006: The Mets score five runs in the top of the sixth to break a 4-4 tie, and the New York pitching staff survives five homers by the Phillies to win their sixth game in a row, 9-7. Carlos Beltrán and Carlos Delgado go back-to-back, and David Wright adds a homer of his own.

2012: The Mets break a scoreless tie against the Rays by scoring three times in the fifth and four more times in the sixth off David Price. That’s more than enough support for R.A. Dickey, who throws a one-hitter, allowing just one unearned run, striking out 12 in a 9-1 victory. The lone hit was an infield single by B.J. Upton in the first inning, which glanced off David Wright’s hand.
