Good morning Mets fans! The inevitable moment of Pete Alonso being crowned National League Rookie of the Year officially came to pass on Monday night. Alonso received 29 of 30 first-place votes to become the sixth Rookie of the Year in Mets history.

Jon Niese, who has not pitched in the majors since 2016, is working on making an MLB comeback as a reliever, per Joel Sherman of the New York Post. Niese is planning on pitching for the Aguilas Cibaenas in the Dominican Winter League at the end of November as a way to showcase himself.
