Colin had some great discussions with us about his draft process and what it was like getting the call from the Mets, his goals now as a professional and what Colin is looking forward to most as he begins his pro career, growing up an Atlanta Braves fan, and much more!
Can playing multiple sports as a young player make you a better athlete overall? For Colin, who was also a highly-recruited football player along with baseball, the daunting task of playing quarterback at a high level prepares you in many ways:
“I think leadership is a big part of it. Being a quarterback, I had to lead the offense and be the guy that people look towards. You start out every play with the ball, and If something goes wrong, you usually blame the QB, which is something that I’ve definitely had to deal with, so that’s something I think will benefit me in the long run. I think toughness is another one, both physical and mental, and you get banged up a few times and learn how to fight through it, which is something I think I will benefit from too.”
