Mets fans, an all-new episode is here!

This week Mike and I are joined by friend of the show Jacob Resnick to preview the World Baseball Classic, Justin Verlander and Kodai Senga‘s first day at Mets camp, Jacob tells us his prospects to keep an eye on this spring, Carlos Beltran is joining the front office, and much more!

Was it surprising to hear Justin Verlander speak about how being the opening day starter wasn’t the priority for him? For Jacob, the ultimate goal of a championship for the the reigning AL Cy Young award-winner is why the Mets were so eager to bring him to the organization:

“The first thing that struck me with Verlander was how much of a professional he is. He’s a guy that’s been around for a longtime and doesn’t have time to play around when it comes to spring training. I’m sure if Verlander was showing up to let’s say the Nationals or Pirate camp he wouldn’t be talking about trying to win a World Series, but he knows why he is here. He’s the kind of guy that seems like he will let his talent and experience do the talking and seems like he’s ready to match wits with Max Scherzer once again.”
