If you asked me to tell you what I loved more between baseball or food, I am not sure I can answer that question.

I love food. I’m sure you do too. And ballpark food has become much more than hot dogs and Cracker Jack (not that there is ANYTHING wrong with the classics!).

What’s your favorite food at Citi Field? What’s your favorite food out of any ballpark? Here’s ours. And be sure to try them when you have a chance.

Sal

Favorite Citi Field food: Premio sausage and peppers. From my days going to Shea then to Citi, I always start my day at the ballpark with a sweet sausage and pepper hero (the tastiest tradition that I will always follow).

Favorite ballpark food in general: hotdog with onions, chicken tenders, and french fries. Nothing says baseball like a Nathan’s hot dog with some french fries and chicken tenders to wash em’ down with!

I haven’t been to Citi Field a ton of times, but my favorite food there has got to be a Shake Shack burger, fries, and chocolate shake since Shake Shack is easily my favorite fast food place. I also remember loving the pizza there.

As for all ballparks, I’ve got to go with the chocolate hot fudge sundae from the Ghiradelli stand at AT&T (now Oracle) Park. That sundae was one of the most amazing and chocolaty things I’ve ever eaten.

Rob

Favorite Citi Field Food: The cliche double shack burger from Shake Shack with a side of fries and a black and white milkshake.

Favorite ballpark food in general: you can never go wrong with chicken fingers and fries boi. (editor’s note: Rob requested that I keep the “boi” in.)

I will never turn down cheese fries from Shake Shack at Citi Field, but the one ballpark food that never lets me down is a good ‘ole hot dog with a bud light. I spent almost every night last summer at NBT Bank Stadium in Syracuse and can’t even explain how many hot dogs I consumed on Dollar Thursdays.

Citi Field is one of the best stadiums in North America, due in part to its cornucopia of culinary choices. For me, it was the first place where I tried Shake Shack and, though admittedly pretty good, it wasn’t up to my lofty expectations. Next visit I went to David Chang’s Fuku and his chicken sandwich was excellent if pricey. After trying LaFreida’s steak sandwich, pizza and more hot dogs then you shake a stick at, I would have to say that a Fuku sandwich with a Shake Shack shake is number one for me.

Elsewhere, I like the hot dogs at Fenway Park. The aroma that fills the air seems as old as the stadium itself but it is most satisfying. But honestly the food at Citi Field tops them all.

Jack

Favorite Citi Field food: the pizza at Papa Rosso or the chicken fingers. Gotta go to Box Frites if I want actual fries though. None of those crinkle cut stubs.

At any baseball game though, I’d probably just settle for a hot dog. You know what you’re getting at that point, and there’s always nostalgic value in Nathan’s… even if Sabrett kicks its ass.

Joe

Favorite Citi Field food: I used to love the pulled pork and cole slaw sandwich at Blue Smoke. But honestly, I’m a sucker for a regular Nathan’s hot dog and oh my god those fries.

Favorite ballpark food in general: Definitely the Crab Nachos at Camden Yards.

Matt

Favorite Citi Field food: you can’t go wrong with an ice cream in a helmet. It’s nostalgic and a perfect snack for a summer Mets game

Favorite ballpark food in general: I didn’t enjoy the crab fries at Citizens Bank as much as I expected, but I have nothing else to fit this category.

Michelle

Favorite Citi Field food: I was devastated when Citi Field took Keith’s Grille away because those cheeseburgers were my absolute favorite. Bring ’em back! Now though it is a toss-up between the chicken parm sandwich from Nicoletta’s or the nachos from the cantina. I am obsessed with both and high recommend them!

Favorite ballpark food in general: Garlic fries. The ones at Oracle Park were delicious and the ones at Wrigley also had parmesan on them. But, I do have to give it to Camden Yards because there is just something special about eating a crab roll while watching a baseball game.
