The Mets found themselves in a 4-1 hole heading into the bottom of the fifth inning and they ended up scoring the final six runs of the game. Meyer has moved to third base and he hit a pair of solo home run for his first multi-home run game since August 16, 2022 with Binghamton.

Syracuse tied the game in the sixth on an RBI single by Ortega and they would take the lead with Araúz drove in two runs with a single of his own. The four-run inning was capped off by an RBI single from Vientos. In total, the quartet of Ortega, Araúz, Vientos, and Stewart were 9-for-19 with five RBIs.

It was an exciting night in Syracuse as Vasil was making his Triple-A home debut. However, he struggled with the long ball as he gave up three home runs in the first four innings (all solo shots). The 23-year-old has yet to finish four innings in his first three outings at Triple-A. The bullpen held Scranton Wilkes-Barre scoreless for the final five innings.

Double-A

Binghamton Rumble Ponies (36-34) 3, Hartford Yard Goats (29-39) 0

BOX SCORE

The Rumble Ponies did not have a single extra-base hit in this game, but they were able to pick up the timely hits when they needed them. Senger got the scoring started with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth. Later in the inning, Young drove in the second run with a single to right. Binghamton added the insurance run in the eighth on an RBI single by Ruiz.

Scott continues to excel in his brief time at Double-A. The 24-year-old right-hander went seven innings for the first time this season and in four of his last five starts, he has allowed only two hits in each of those. On Wednesday, only one of those hits was an extra-base hit. Since joining the Rumble Ponies, he has 23 strikeouts in his last three starts (19.2 IP).

High-A

Jersey Shore BlueClaws (38-31) 8, Brooklyn Cyclones (31-38) 2

The Cyclones managed only four hits on Wednesday, and the only damage done came in the bottom of the sixth on a two-run double by Parada, who now has 15 doubles on the season. That double extended his hit streak to eight games and he has a slash line of .309/.364/.531 in June.

All of the damage done against Colon came in the second and sixth inning as Jersey Shore scored three runs in each of those innings yet only had a pair of doubles as the lone extra-base hits. After not getting out of the first inning in his last start, Colon went six innings or more for the third time this year.

Hernández and Reid-Foley continued their rehab assignments. Hernández gave up a two-run home run in the seventh in his second rehab outing with the Cyclones. Meanwhie, Reid-Foley threw a 1-2-3 eighth in his first appearance with the Cyclones (previous three outings came with Port St. Lucie).

Low-A

Dunedin Blue Jays (34-36) 9, St. Lucie Mets (25-43) 5

BOX SCORE

All five runs that the Mets scored came in the bottom of the second with four of them coming on the grand slam from Villavicencio. The third baseman hit the fourth home run of his major league career.

The other run in the second came on an RBI single from Williams. His 18 hits this month are the fourth-most of any plaer on St. Lucie and third-most of any player still on the roster.

  • LHP Javier Atencio (0-7, 11.63): 3 IP, 7 R (5 ER), 6 H, 3 BB, 3 K, WP

Ovalles ended up going five innings in a start for the fourth time this year and the 20-year-old ended up finishing June on a strong note. In five games this month, he had a 1.77 ERA and had 23 strikeouts to 2 walks in 20 1/3 innings of work. Dunedin ended up scoring the final nine runs of the game with seven of them coming against Atencio.

 Florida Complex League

 FCL Mets (10-7) 6, FCL Astros (7-10) 5

BOX SCORE

The Mets were able to mount a comeback in this game as they were down 5-2 heading into the bottom of the eighth inning. Juan helped them get back in it with a two-run home run in the eighth for his first home run of the year. Then, in the ninth, after a wild pitch tied the game, Báez drove in the winning run with a walk-off double. As for Henríquez, he had a season-high three hits and he has eight total bases in the last four games.

  • RHP Jonaiker Palacios (2-0, 5.79): 1 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 1 K

Rodriguez was making his second rehab start of the year and had another strong outing as he was able to get the fastball up into the mid-90’s in velocity. Palacios was able to work a scoreless ninth to help the Mets stay in the game and he picked up the victory. In total, six pitchers combined for nine strikeouts in the win.
