After defeating the New York Yankees in Friday’s Subway Series opener by a score of 5-1, the New York Mets will continue their quest for the NL East crown this afternoon at Citi Field with their magic number down to eight games.

Rookie Noah Syndergaard (8-6, 3.20) will get the start for the Mets and he opposes right-hander Michael Pineda (10-8, 4.25) for the Yankees in a 1:05 PM matinee.

New York is 29-14 (16-7 at home) in day games this year, the best winning percentage (.674) in the majors.
