The New York Mets will seek their third straight win tonight against the Philadelphia Phillies as they send left-hander Jon Niese (8-9, 3.95 ERA) to face off against veteran right-hander Aaron Harang (5-14, 4.79 ERA) in a 7:10 PM matchup at Citi Field.

The Mets are 13-1 vs. the Phillies this year and has won 10 straight games vs. Philadelphia, equaling the franchise-record. New York has won more than 13 games vs. one team in a single-season three times in franchise history, the 1991 squad went 14-4 vs. Montreal, the 1985 Mets were 14-4 vs. the Cubs and the 1986 club was 17-1 vs. Pittsburgh.

The Mets recalled catcher Kevin Plawecki and infielder Eric Campbell from Las Vegas (AAA), activated outfielder Kirk Nieuwenhuis, LHP Steven Matz, RHP Bobby Parnell and RHP Erik Goeddel from the Disabled List, and selected the contract of IF/OF Eric Young, Jr. from Las Vegas (AAA).

Colon got it done! Twice in a row! After a great outing his last time out, Colon came out yesterday and threw 8.0 scoreless innings while striking out 9 batters and Conforto plus Granderson added power as the Mets beat the Phillies. In addition, the Nationals lost to the Cardinals and Mets lead in the division increased again to 6.5 games.

Niese is 8-9 over 25 games over 152.2 innings with a 3.95 ERA. After a tremendous stretch where Niese was crushing it, his last three starts have been pretty bad totaling 17.1 innings with 15 ER including his last start against the Phillies where he allowed 5 ER over 6.0 innings (his first two starts against the Phillies were much better totaling 13.1 innings, 3 runs, 1 earned).
