The Mets are coming off a tough series with the Diamondbacks where they fell apart pretty much on all cylinders as they welcome the Padres to Queens tonight. In the first two games against Arizona, the bullpen gave the game away after the offense couldn’t muster much, last afternoon was just a complete overall failure as the Diamondbacks steamrolled our squad.

  2. T.J. Rivera 3B

Logan Verrett will make the start for the Amazin’s. He’s 3-7 over 29 games and 11 starts with 83.0 innings of work and a 4.66 ERA. After his last start where he allowed 6 ER over 3.2 innings to the Yankees, there was some talk about removing him from the rotation but he’s still here and hopefully he find “it” again tonight. In one outing against the Padres this year he allowed 3 hits and 2 runs, 1 earned over 2.0 innings while striking out 3. The Padres have the following numbers against Logan:

  • Myers 0-1
  • Norris 1-1, HR
  • Ramirez 0-1
  • Wallace 0-1

The Mets bats will get a look at Paul Clemens tonight. Paul came up with the Astros in 2013 where he pitched 73.1 innings with a 5.40 ERA (his most time in the majors). This year he made a brief appearance with the Marlins going 1-0 over 2 starts and 10.0 innings with a 6.30 ERA before being traded to the Padres where he has gone 0-2 over 7 games and 3 starts in 17.2 innings with a 3.63 ERA. In his last two starts for the Padres, officially joining their rotation, he has allowed 5 runs, 4 earned, over 8.1 innings. This will be his first time facing the Mets, but a few Mets have seen him before:

  • De Aza 0-5, BB
  • Granderson 0-2
  • Loney 2-3
  • K Johnson 1-2

Let’s Go Mets!
