The Mets will look for their third win in a row in Philly, with Matt Harvey (1-0, 2.70 ERA) toeing the rubber for the Mets and Clay Buchholz (0-0, 7.20 ERA) getting the ball for the Phillies. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

The Mets have hit 39 home runs in their last 20 games in Philly. New York has out-homered Philadelphia, 37-14 over the last six series at Citizens Bank Park. The Mets hit 18 home runs in nine games in Philadelphia in 2016.

The Mets played their first regular season game in franchise history, 56 years ago today – April 11, 1962. New York lost, 11-4 in St. Louis. Roger Craig took the loss while Gil Hodges hit the club’s first home run in team history.

Jose Reyes has been dropped to seventh in the lineup. It’s the first time he’s not batting in the leadoff spot since being acquired last season. When Terry Collins was asked why, he declined to comment and said, “Ask Mets Daddy.”

As a member of the Red Sox last year he posted a 4.78 ERA and 8-10 record over 21 starts and 37 games totaling 139.1 innings.
