Bartolo Colon makes his 2015 Grapefruit League debut today as the Mets take on the Washington Nationals in Viera. Colon will oppose Max Scherzer, who signed a seven-year, $210 million contract in the offseason to join an already talented Washington rotation.
Other Mets pitchers that are expected to get some work in today’s contest include Gabriel Ynoa, Cory Mazzoni and Josh Edgin.
Mets had a nice start to the Grapefruit League season yesterday when they trounced the Atlanta Braves 8-2. Kirk Nieuwenhuis had a four-hit game will bat cleanup today. Matt den Dekker replaces Juan Lagares at leadoff in this one, Cesar Puello gets the start in right field.
