New York Mets vs Miami Marlins

Yesterday’s Game – Tom Gorzelanny coughed up four runs in the ninth inning to spoil a 2-1 lead and the Mets lost 5-2 to the Houston Astros. Asdrubal Cabrera and Wilmer Flores each homed in the game. Phillips Evans went 0 for 3 at the plate but made several sparkling plays defensively at third base.

Left-handed pitching prospect P.J. Conlon got the start and was impressive with two scoreless innings against an Astros lineup with most regulars. Jeurys Familia allowed a run on three hits in his first appearance of the spring. Rafael Montero threw two perfect inning with four strikeouts and Hansel Robles had two perfect innings of his own with two strikeouts.

Today’s Game – The Mets will play their first of eight spring games against the Marlins and the first of two games this week vs. Miami. Seth Lugo gets the start on the mound, his second of the spring. He will be followed by RHP Kevin McGowan, LHP Josh Smoker. LHP Adam Wilk, LHP Sean Gilmartin and RHP Logan Taylor.
