The Mets had a rough go of it in Arizona last night as they got pounded by the Diamondbacks 9-6 and falling back to .500 on the season while losing more ground in the wild card chase. They look to turn it around as the God of Thunder comes to the desert.
New York has lost four straight to the Diamondbacks…The club’s longest losing streak to Arizona is five games back in 2002.
*** Neil Walker is a late scratch with back stiffness. He’s been replaced by T.J. Rivera.

Noah Syndergaard is 9-7 over 23 games and 22 starts this season pitching 134.1 innings with 163 K’s and a 2.75 ERA. August hasn’t been the greatest month for him so far as he has allowed 7 ER over 11.0 innings including 3 ER over 8 hits and 5.0 innings against the Diamondbacks in his last start. These last two games have been only the second time this season Noah has picked up losses in back to back starts. Arizona has the following numbers against Syndergaard:

His best start in his young career so far was his last, which was also against the Mets where he held the Amazin’s to only 3 hits over 7.0 innings while walking only 1 and striking out 7.
