Chris Flexen starts for the Mets for the first time since the start of the month. The young righty is 3-4 over 12 games and eight starts and 41 2/3 innings with a 7.13 ERA, 6.87 FIP and 1.992 WHIP. In his last start he allowed seven runs over four innings surrendering nine hits and two walks. Since then, he has pitched five innings out of the ‘pen allowing only one run and three hits.

The Mets bats draw Lucas Sims who is 2-5 over 12 games and eight starts in 49.0 innings (similar numbers to Flexen) with a 5.14 ERA, 5.05 FIP and 1.408 WHIP. Sims’ last start was his return to the rotation since the start of September as well. At the start of the month, he allowed seven runs over three innings from six hits and four walks. Last time out, he allowed one run from three hits and two walks in five innings. He faced the Mets earlier this season and allowed two runs over two innings with three hits and a walk.
