The Mets imploded late yesterday and now they try to salvage a game this series before a critical series with the Cubs.
Yesterday the Braves jumped all over the Mets early, taking a 4-0 lead but the Mets clawed back getting the score to 4-2 before Pete Alonso hit his 41st homer of the year, giving the Mets the lead and giving him a share of the single season team home run record. But the bullpen fell apart late with some defensive miscues tossed in, and the offense made some weird decisions (Rosario bunting?). It was a mess at the end of it, the Mets just need a fresh start today.
