For the second weekend in a row, the Mets have won 2 of 3 and managed to do enough on and off the field in the losing game to make fans forget about the wins in the previous games. Yesterday, the Mets announced a couple of hours before the game that they had suspended Matt Harvey without pay for three days. Adam Wilk was flown in and promptly gave up some long, long homers to Giancarlo Stanton as the Marlins rolled the Mets.

The Mets will play its first non-NL East opponent this year tonight. New York began the year with 30 straight games vs. NL East teams, going 14-16…It was the longest streak in team history to open a season. The 1969 Mets began the year with 25 games vs. the NL East.

The Mets are hitting .370 (10-27) with six walks and 34 RBI with the bases loaded this season. The .370 batting average is the fourth-best in the majors. The 34 RBI ranks third in the majors. New York also has a .432 on-base percentage with the bases loaded, the fourth-best mark in the majors.
