The Mets are currently in the middle of playing 11 games in 10 days, thanks to the second game of a doubleheader that is about to happen. This evening the Mets are playing one of the games missed due to the lockout to start the season. The Mets played an extraordinary number of unscheduled games last year (either doubleheaders or games due to weather postponements). At least this year everyone is impacted by missing the first two series of the year.

The Mets took Game 1 of the doubleheader 5-4.

Kyle Wright will start the night cap for the Braves.

Over his first four starts and 24 innings pitched he has a 1.13 ERA, 1.37 FIP, 0.833 WHIP and a 367 ERA+. His success this season has come from controlling the home run ball–he hasn’t allowed a single homer this season! For comparison, his career home run rate is 1.4/9. Wright made two starts last season, one in April and one in June, and was sent back down to the minors after both of them. Against the Mets last June, he allowed five runs from four hits over two innings.

Last time out against the Cardinals, he allowed eight runs over 3 2/3 innings. Carrasco made only one start against the Braves last year allowing five runs from seven hits and two walks in five innings of work.
