The Mets (71-75) swept the series from the Colorado Rockies (59-87) this evening at Citi Field with a game three win by a score of 2-0.

What you should know:

Rafael Montero picked up his first major league win, as he went 5.1 innings, allowing zero runs on three hits, while striking out seven and walking four.

The Mets offense came off the strength of an Eric Young, Jr. RBI triple in the bottom of the second and a sacrifice fly by Juan Lagares in the bottom of the seventh.

Jenrry Mejia had a bounce back performance tonight, as he set the Rockies down with a perfect ninth to earn his 25th save of the season.

Winners of their  seventh game in their past eight, the Mets improved to 71-75. They have not been this close to .500 since Aug. 2 (53-57).

The Mets tossed consecutive shutouts for the first time since June 29-30, 2012 at Dodger Stadium.
