Yesterday at Citi Field, we witnessed an outpouring of love for Mets team captain David Wright. It was something I have NEVER seen matched in my 30 plus years of reporting in this town.
Former teammates like Cliff Floyd talked about Wright with me and I had a chance to talk One On One with the former Met outfielder.
Cliff told me that right from day one he knew Wright was going to be a very special player and in many ways, he was the first analytic superstar in the game – someone all others would be compared to for years to come.
