The American League all-stars defeated the National League all-stars by a score of 4-2 tonight at PETCO Park. With the win, the American League secured home field advantage in the 2016 World Series.

What you should know:

In the top of the first inning, Kris Bryant who has 25 home runs in the regular season, flashed his power by launching another home run to give the National League an early 1-0 lead.

The American League answered back in the second, with a pair of homers from Royals Eric Hosmer and Salvador Perez to make it a 3-1 game.

In the third inning, the National League had runners on second and third after a single from Carlos Gonzalez and a double from Bryce Harper, but unfortunately did not score.

The American League tacked on another run in the third inning on an RBI single from Eric Hosmer. 4-1 AL.

The National League got one back in the fourth on an RBI single from Marcell Ozuna, but it would be the last run the National League would muster up, despite having a chance to tie the game back up in the eighth with the bases loaded, but Aledmys Diaz went down looking to end the frame.

The National League left ten runners on base in tonight’s game.

Neither Met Jeurys Familia or Bartolo Colon appeared in the game tonight for the National League. In fact every MLB team had someone play in the game except for the Mets.
