Not all teams have opened their stadiums yet, but some are beginning to let players come in and workout, according to Newsday.

George M. Steinbernner Field in Tampa, Florida has been open to Yankees players for weeks with players like Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, Tyler Wade, J.A. Happ, DJ LeMahieu and Luis Severino already taking advantage.

Now the Marlins and Rays have joined the Yankees on this. As of Tuesday, the Marlins allowed players on the 40-man roster to use their spring training facility. Players will be able to throw off the mound and use the batting cages. However, they will not be allowed to use the clubhouse or other areas of the park.

The Rays will supposedly be the first to open a major league stadium, by opening Tropicana Field this Monday for limited and primarily individual workouts, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

While this is a step towards seeing baseball played again, it does not necessarily mean we are any closer to spring training beginning in the near future. We still do not know yet when Clover Park in Port St. Lucie will open. In fact, the Mets declined to comment. We also do not know yet when baseball is coming back.

What we do know is that the league approved a proposal for the 2020 season, began talks with the players’ union, and then sent detailed health and safety protocols to them as well. Still, nothing has been decided just yet.

Continue to stay tuned, baseball fans.
