The Miami Marlins are rumored to be looking for roughly $250 million from additional investors according to Jon Heyman of Fan Rag Sports.

Fan Rags was able to get their hands on a private email titled ”Project Citrus” that outlines ways to improve the franchise including non-baseball event revenue opportunities, pursue and execute on a new local TV deal, and player payroll discipline.

Fox Sports Florida announced that play-by-play announcer Rich Waltz and pre/post-game analysts Jeff Conine and Preston Wilson will not be returning for the 2018 season.

Last month, new Marlins CEO Derek Jeter fired the fan favorite Conine from his special assistant role and offered him a lesser job in the organization.

Waltz had been the Marlins’ play-by-play guy for the past 13 seasons. Conine had been a part of FSF’s telecasts for the past nine years, Wilson for six years.

The Cleveland Indians announced that they’ve signed left-hander Jeff Beliveau, right-hander Leonel Campos and infielder Drew Maggi to minor league contracts with invitations to Major League Spring Training.

The Chicago White Sox have signed infielder/outfielder Patrick Leonard to a minor league deal with an invitation to Sptring Training according to Matt Eddy of Baseball America.

Free agent outfielder Jon Jay has been negotiating with the Seattle Mariners according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.

Feinsand also reports that free agent Todd Frazier‘s representatives are selling the veteran as a first baseman as well as third baseman. Frazier has played a total of 50 games at first base over the last three seasons.

The Baltimore Orioles acquired outfielder Jaycob Brugman from the Oakland A’s for a player to be named later or cash.

San Diego Padres signed right-handed pitcher Colten Brewer to a major league deal and designated fellow right-hander Kyle Lloyd for assignment.

As the Minnesota Twins look for reliever help they have contacted the Padres about Brad Hand, Rays closer Alex Colome and Reds Raisel Iglesias according to Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN.
