On Tuesday night  Trea Turner hit for the cycle in the Washington Nationals 11-1 victory against the Colorado Rockies at Nationals Park.

The 26-year-old started the night out strong with a home run in the first inning to lead-off the game giving his team an early 1-0  lead.

Turner then grabbed a two-out infield single that was bobbled by the first baseman in the second and hit a ball into to the right-field corner for a triple in the fifth.

The shortstop completed his cycle with an RBI double in the seventh inning and ended the day 4-for-5 on the night with two RBI and two runs scored. This was the second time he hit for the cycle in his career as he did so back in April of 2017, strangely against the Rockies as well.

The Rockies have taken part in 19 cycles since the club’s park opened in 1995. Out of those 19, 18 came at home in Coors Field. The 19th, Turner’s one Tuesday night, was the first hit against the team while on the road.

Turner’s cycle on Tuesday ties Alfonso Soriano for the most in Nationals history. The young shortstop is the 26th player in MLB history to record multiple cycles in their career, as noted by Jamal Collier of MLB.com.

For the season, Turner is slashing .286/.343/.494 with a .799 OPS this season. Despite missing a month due to a fracture in his index finger while trying to bunt back in April, he is hitting .272/.329/.429 since returning from the injured list May 17.
