Johnny Cueto decided to opt-in to the remaining four years and $84 million left on his contract with the San Francisco Giants.

Cueto, 31, signed a six-year, $130 million pact with San Francisco prior to the 2016 season. In 25 starts this past season, the right-hander went 8-8 with a 4.52 ERA in 147.1 innings. Jon Heyman of FanRag was one of the first to have it.

The Tampa Bay Rays have extended right-handed pitcher Alex Cobb the $17.4 million qualifying offer, according to Heyman on Twitter.

Cobb, 30, went 12-10 with a 3.66 ERA over 29 starts in his walk year with Tampa Bay in 2017.

The National League champion Los Angeles Dodgers have decided to part ways with longtime outfielder Andre Ethier, declining his $17.5 million club option for 2018. He will instead receive a $2.5 million buyout, according to Ken Gurnick of MLB.com.

Ethier, 35, has been limited to just 38 games over the last two seasons. The two-time all-star will hit the open market after spending the past 12 seasons in Los Angeles.

Miami Marlins southpaw Wei-Yin Chen has informed the team he will opt-in to the remaining three-year, $52 million left on his contract, according to Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald.

Jerry Crasnick of ESPN reports that former major leaguers Wilin Rosario, Roger Bernadina and Nolan Reimold are each eyeing returns to the bigs in 2018. The former both recently played in Korea, while the latter spent time with the Long Island Ducks in independent ball.

Washington Nationals catcher Matt Wieters will exercise his player option to remain in the nation’s capital, reports Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post.

The Toronto Blue Jays have declined their mutual option on outfielder Jose Bautista, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.
