Today is the first full day of free agency after it began yesterday at 5:00 pm EST. Here are some transactions that occurred around baseball.

The St. Louis Cardinals have parted ways with their former closer Trevor Rosenthal as reported by Jenifer Langosch on Twitter.

Rosenthal had been with the Cardinals for six seasons. During his time with the team he had collected 121 saves in 328 games. From 2014-2015 he saved 93 games and earned his first and only All-Star Game nod.

Rosenthal needed Tommy John surgery during the season and will likely miss most of, if not all of 2018 recovering.

The deadline for teams to extend qualifying offers passed yesterday. There are a total of nine players from six teams who now have the option to accept or decline the $17.4 million offer. The deadline to make a decision regarding their offers is November 16.

The nine players are Jake Arrieta (SP, Cubs), Lorenzo Cain (OF, Royals), Alex Cobb (SP, Rays), Wade Davis (RP, Cubs), Greg Holland (RP, Rockies), Eric Hosmer, (1B, Royals), Lance Lynn, (SP, Cardinals), Mike Moustakas, (3B, Royals), and Carlos Santana, (1B, Indians).
