Jose Rivera of ESPN reports that the Washington Nationals have agreed to a deal with outfielder Gerardo Parra. He is set to join the MLB team before the end of their road trip that continues in Los Angeles for four games tomorrow.

Parra, 32, was in his first season with the San Francisco Giants before being DFA’d after 30 games with the club in which he hit .198/.278/.267 with one home run, six RBI, and two stolen bases to give himself a -0.2 fWAR and an extremely low 48 wRC+. The outfielder elected for free agency on Tuesday.

Defensively, Parra had already accumulated six defensive runs saved and a 2.1 UZR in only 216 innings between left and right field.

Currently, the team has Juan Soto and Matt Adams on the IL and Andrew Stevenson might join them as well while nursing an injured back, as noted by Jeff Todd of MLB Trade Rumors.
