According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, infielder Kolten Wong has signed with his division rival Milwaukee Brewers on a two-year deal with an option for a third year.
According to Rosenthal, the first two years are valued at $18 million and the optional third year brings the total value up to $26 million.
Wong, 30, has spent his entire career so far in St. Louis as a second baseman, where he has posted +55 Defensive Runs Saved in total, including a +41 over the last three years. Wong has posted a 15.3 WAR since his debut, according to FanGraphs.
Wong will likely be the starting second baseman for the Brewers, and Keston Hiura will likely move across the infield, to either one of the corners. Hiura would likely be a DH, but with labor talks rumored to be going nowhere, Kiura will need to field a position next season.
