Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic reports that Craig Kimbrel is still seeking a multi-year contract despite still being on the free agent market three weeks into the season.
Kimbrel, 30, reportedly is looking for a deal between the one Zach Britton signed (three years, $39 million) and the one Wade Davis signed (three-years, $52 million).
The former Red Sox closer recorded 42 saves last season while registering a 2.74 ERA, 0.995 WHIP, 3.13 FIP, and 96 strikeouts in 63 appearances (62 1/3 innings).
The Mets have been linked to the right-hander and starter Dallas Keuchel as they are said to be monitoring both markets to see what their price tags ultimately end up being.
