According to Jeff Passan of ESPN, the Dodgers have agreed to a one-year, $10 million contract with right-handed reliever Blake Treinen.

Treinen, 31, broke out in 2018 with the Athletics, when he dominated to the tune of a 0.78 ERA and a 1.82 FIP. However, after struggling last year with a 4.91 ERA and -0.3 fWAR, the Athletics non-tendered him this offseason.

Treinen will look to regain some value with this one-year deal after a shaky 2019. Meanwhile the Dodgers will hope to reap the benefits of what is a very high-upside move, as they have questions mark in their bullpen especially with the gradual decline of closer Kenley Jansen.

If Treinen can regain his form to any degree, he could be a force in the late innings as the Dodgers desperately try to end their World Series drought.

This move also eliminates another relief option on the free agent market for the Mets, as that market continues to progressively thin more and more with every passing day.
