The Atlanta Braves are bringing in a former Cy Young winner and All-Star to compete for their fifth starter.

According to Jon Heyman of MLB Network, the Braves have signed Felix Hernandez as a non-roster invitee who will compete to make the team out of Spring Training.

Hernandez, 34 in April, has spent the entirety of his 15-year career with the Seattle Mariners, originally debuting as a 19-year-old in 2005.

The right-hander made six All-Star teams as a Mariner, including five years in a row from 2011-15. He also captured the Cy Young award in 2010 when he had a 2.27 ERA.

King Felix is no longer the ace he ones was, but Atlanta will hope to catch lightning in a bottle, or at the very least, a serviceable arm to eat innings at the back end of their rotation.
