According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, the Atlanta Braves have signed former Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman, Sean Rodriguez. The deal is for two years at $11 million per Rosenthal and is pending a physical.
Rodriguez, 31, is coming off a fine season for Pittsburgh, hitting to a .270/.349/.510 batting line with 18 homers and 56 RBI. All of this production was over the course of just 300 at-bats, and was a career year for Rodriguez..
The Atlanta Braves continue to beef up their team, looking to build off of a strong second half in the 2016 season.
Earlier this month, Atlanta signed a pair of former Mets to boost their rotation, adding veteran right-handers Bartolo Colon and R.A. Dickey via free agency.
