Derrick S. Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the Atlanta Braves have decided to remove the foam tomahawks from the seats of SunTrust Park for Game 5 of the NLDS against the St. Louis Cardinals.

This is in response to comments made by Cardinals’ reliever Ryan Helsley, who is of Cherokee heritage, in which he referred to the ‘Tomahawk Chop’ chant at Braves’ games as “disrespectful.”

According to Goold, the Braves will be making other changes to their game presentation in an attempt to be more conscientious of this and to show that they are “sensitive to it,” as a Braves spokesperson said.
