Veteran left-handed starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel is still a free agent and according to Jon Morosi of MLB, he threw 80 pitches on Wednesday at the Boras Sports Training Institute in Newport Beach, California.

Keuchel, 31, went 12-11 with a 3.74 ERA, 3.69 FIP, and 2.64 SO/W in 204.2 innings for the Astros in 2018. He also posted a 2.6 bWAR and won the Gold Glove. The former Cy Young winner saw his H/9 climb to 9.3 and his strikeouts shrink to 6.7 K/9, but did limit the long ball with 0.8 HR/9 and walks with 2.6 BB/9.

Morosi reports that the Braves continue to monitor the market for Keuchel, though the team is wary of surrendering a draft pick to sign him.

The Braves current rotation likely includes Julio Teheran, Kevin Gausman, Sean Newcomb, Touki Toussaint, and now a question mark for the fifth starter with Mike Foltynewicz out (elbow tightness) to start the season.
