With Friday marking the 75th anniversary of the farewell speech by Lou Gehrig of the New York Yankees, Major League Baseball produced a tribute video featuring all 30 MLB first basemen to mark the occasion and raise awareness for ALS.
Lucas Duda and the other first basemen reenact the stirring and powerful “Luckiest Man” speech originally delivered by Gehrig on July 4, 1939 at Yankee Stadium. The video also includes a cameo from Yankees captain Derek Jeter.

The video will be played before the start of every major league game on Friday, July 4.
On Gehrig’s 36th birthday, he was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), the degenerative and ultimately deadly disease that’s now better known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
