Syracuse, Binghamton, and St. Lucie all picked up wins Sunday. Jeff McNeil launched another home run in Double-A, continuing to build a case for a return to the big league roster later this week, whether in Queens or Washington, D.C.. Blade Tidwell overwhelmed the Buffalo offense, and rising prospect Jesus Baez launched a home run for the Cyclones.

Drew Gilbert collected two hits Sunday, one of which was a double, as he continues his strong start to open the season in Syracuse. Joey Meneses continues to rake, as he drove in the game-winning run. Jared Young also collected two hits, proving his worth as a strong utility man.

Blade Tidwell impressed in his start against Buffalo, striking out nine batters over just 4 1/3 innings to raise his season total to 28 strikeouts in 22 1/3 innings, while touching 98.3 MPH with his fastball. If he continues to impress and his command improves, don’t be surprised to see him earn a call-up to the big league club at some point this season.

Jeff McNeil launched his second leadoff home run in as many days, while collecting four hits, continuing his hot streak as he inches towards IL activation. Nick Morabito had another productive day at the plate despite going hitless, as he collected a sacrifice fly and drove in a run. Francisco Alvarez went 1-for-5 as the DH.

Johnathan Pintaro posted a strong outing, striking out five over four innings while only allowing one earned run. The bullpen combined for an additional five strikeouts, limiting Reading to two runs, which was enough to secure the win. Binghamton will look to follow up on their strong performance Tuesday against the Fisher Cats.

2024 draftee Jonathan Santucci struggled Sunday, allowing four earned runs over three innings while walking two and surrendering two homers. However, the bullpen was able to limit the damage afterwards, holding the IronBirds to one run over five innings, including five strikeouts.

St. Lucie smacked the ball around against the Tarpons Sunday, combining for eight runs. Marco Vargas, acquired in the 2023 David Robertson trade, smacked a home run, raising his average to .438 and his OPS to 1.155 as he continues making noise to start the season.

St Lucie’s pitching staff combined for 15 strikeouts, with Wellington Aracena standing out with six over three innings pitched. Hoss Brewer continued his strong start to the season, racking up another three strikeouts while his season ERA sits at an impressive 1.17.
Gomez threw 17 pitches of at least 100 mph and he hit 102 mph multiple times.
