Mets’ outfielder Michael Conforto is wrapping up yet another successful season, but his main goal is to win a World Series in Queens.

Conforto told reporters on Wednesday that he loves New York and that it’s all he knows being a big leaguer.

I’ve been through almost the highest highs and some of the lowest lows,” Conforto told SNY on Wednesday. “I’ve been sent down, I’ve been an All-Star, I’ve done all of those things. Really what I want is to win a championship. The reason why we play this game is to win a championship and I want to do it with this team in New York.

“That’s my dream, so hopefully we can keep this young core together. The pitching staff is elite, like it has been the last couple of years, so I think as we continue to grow and mature as hitters, I think we’re going to have a very good team.”

Conforto, 26, has had a strong season, appearing in 147 games, launching 33 home runs, driving in 92 runs and owning an OPS of .864.

The Washington state native is in his fifth year with the Mets. He is under contract for two more years and can be a free agent at the end of the 2021 season.

Conforto hopes that the Mets keep their core intact for 2020 and believes they have the ability to contend if they do so.

“I think consistency and learning from this year and having that perspective, bringing it with you into the offseason and letting it motivate you and coming back with that mindset might be the biggest thing we need to improve,” Conforto said, according to Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News.
