According to a report by Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News, the New York Mets doctors are suggesting surgery for star outfielder Michael Conforto. The 24-year-old outfielder tore the posterior capsule in his left shoulder in addition to dislocating it.

The recovery time is estimated at four-to-six months following the surgery and Conforto went to get a second opinion earlier this week. Conforto injured his shoulder last week on a swing against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Michael was having a career season with 20 doubles, 27 home runs, 72 runs scored and 68 RBI in 440 plate appearances. He finished his 2017 season slashing .279/.384/.555 and was a 3.5 bWAR player.
