The New York Mets officially announced that Michael Conforto suffered a dislocation of his left shoulder in the game earlier today against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
X-rays of the shoulder were negative; however, a subsequent MRI revealed a tear in the posterior capsule in the shoulder.
Michael will be placed on the Disabled List Friday.
All treatment options, including possible surgery to repair the capsule, are being considered.

In a season full of disappointment, heartbreak and frustration, the New York Mets may have gotten another humbling dose of bad news after outfielder Michael Conforto was forced to leave the game with a potential arm injury.
It happened in the bottom of the fifth inning against the Arizona Diamondbacks. After swinging and missing on a pitch from starting pitcher Robbie Ray, Conforto injured his left upper arm on the follow-through and dropped to the ground in obvious pain while clutching his shoulder.
The Mets are calling it a dislocated left shoulder and I would have to imagine this will end what was a great season for Conforto.
Only 24, Conforto was batting .280 with 20 doubles, 27 home runs and 68 RBIs with a .944 OPS and 3.4 WAR. He logged time for the Mets in all three outfield spots including 43 games in center field.
