Outfielder Michael Conforto and utility guy Ty Kelly have made the New York Mets Opening Day roster Sandy Alderson announced earlier today.
Conforto and Kelly join the Mets bench that is also expected to include catcher Rene Rivera, infielder Wilmer Flores and infielder T.J. Rivera.
An oblique injury will put Juan Lagares on the disabled list to begin the season and paved the way for Conforto to make the roster as the backup center fielder.
Conforto, 24, hit .300/.323/.550 this spring with three home runs and 15 strikeouts in 24 Grapefruit League games.
