Mike Puma of the New York Post reports that the New York Mets won’t address the job status of Carlos Beltran on Wednesday night. Puma adds that there was an indication that the team would address it before the end of the night earlier, but that has changed apparently.

Beltran, 42, appears to be in limbo in lieu of a report by Buster Olney of ESPN from Wednesday afternoon that the Mets were “wavering” on the team’s new skipper for the 2020 season.

It remains to be seen when the Mets will announce a decision on Beltran after he was mentioned, but not punished for his involvement in the Houston Astros’ sign-stealing scandal report by MLB. Beltran was the only player mentioned by name in the document.
